About CRAICCHS:
Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation.
CRAICCHS objective is to provide access to holistic and client-centred quality primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the South Burnett regions.
Key Duties:
The duties will be diverse, and although not limited to, will include:
- Maintain professional standards of practice and presentation in the delivery of safe transportation and courteous client services.
- Ensure timely compliance with the transportation schedule in consultation with the coordinator.
- Liaise with medical staff and associated services to provide the delivery of quality service to the community.
- Maintain communication networks between health providers and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the community.
- Assess the client’s suitability for transport.
- Demonstrate empathy for people who are frail, aged, disabled or disadvantaged.
- Assist with outreach services provided at CRAICCHS such as visiting Allied Health and medical practitioners including phone contacts, delivery of appointment cards and letters as required.
- Complete administrative tasks such as maintain appointment schedule and complete client notes in a proficient and timely manner.
- Foster productive working relationships with other CRAICCHS staff in the delivery of seamless support services.
- Uphold privacy and confidentiality procedures and regulations.
Key Requirements:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in people transportation, or the willingness to learn.
- An excellent driving record with the knowledge and understanding of Road Traffic Regulations.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn medical software systems such as Best Practice.
- Ability to interpret maps and directions.
- The ability to understand transport schedules and coordinate appointment schedules to meet client needs.
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community dynamics to effectively engage with clients and provide culturally safe transportation services.
- The ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Current driver licence.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or the ability to quickly acquire.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certs or the willingness to obtain.
- Documentary evidence to verify either vaccination against or are not susceptible to any of the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases: Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (chickenpox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).
