About CRAICCHS:
Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is a Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation.
CRAICCHS objective is to provide access to holistic and client-centred quality primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the South Burnett regions.
Key Duties:
The duties will be diverse, and although not limited to, will include:
- Lead the daily operations of the Child, Family and Youth Services team.
- Complete performance management, team performance reviews, leave rosters, complaint handling and staff development.
- Develop annual work plans
- Manage programme areas within the Community Health portfolio to ensure KPI’s and outcomes are compliant with funding guidelines.
- Ensure community activities are planned, delivered, monitored and reviewed with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensure that service delivery, records management, work instructions and procedures comply with or exceed required standards and guidelines.
- Recruit, induct and lead staff in partnership with the Executive Manager, Community Health.
- Ensure all relevant registers and reporting are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Facilitate staff development and training.
- Monitor all referral portals and refer to appropriate staff for action in a timely manner.
- Support community-developed strategies to address Health Promotion topics, including prevention and early detection projects.
- Conduct regular audits of client files to ensure compliance with funding agreements.
- Attend meetings as required and work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to support coordinated, highâquality services.
- Develop a strong team and workplace culture.
- Undertake other duties as required, that are within the scope of your skills, competence and training.
Key Requirements:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- A Diploma or extensive experience in the Primary Health Care sector or related fields.
- Awareness of Commonwealth Key Performance Indicators and knowledge of statutory requirements relevant to the role, including but not limited to the Child Protection Act.
- Strong leadership skills and experience with the ability to manage a team and encourage a focus on continuous improvement.
- An understanding of the systemic issues which disadvantage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a commitment to culturally safe engagement and practice, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, their families and community.
- Proven communication skills to effectively engage sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those with disability and diverse characteristics and life experiences.
- Competent computer skills for the use of business technology, internet, MS Office, medical software (Best Practice), electronic client records, information management systems and quality management systems.
- The willingness to learn and complete ongoing professional development and training.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or the ability to quickly acquire.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certs or the willingness to obtain.
- Current driver licence.
