Develop your skills and expand your career through a Medical Receptionist Traineeship with CRAICCHS in Cherbourg.

Assist with being the first point of contact for all visitors and clients to CRAICCHS at their Cherbourg, Wondai or Kingaroy facilities.

About CRAICCHS:

Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation.

CRAICCHS objective is to provide access to holistic and client-centred quality primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the South Burnett regions.

Key Duties:

The duties will be diverse, and although not limited to, will include:

  • Assisting with the opening and closing of the reception area
  • Respond to clients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Deliver high quality and culturally sensitive service.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with all personal data and information.
  • Accurately schedule and manage client appointments for General Practitioners, Clinicians and Aboriginal Health Workers.
  • Provide administrative support for all reception activities.
  • Work harmoniously with all members of the Primary Health Care team.
  • Complete a Cert III in Business (Meical Administration) and other training as required.
  • Assist with other duties as required, to ensure the smooth functioning of the medical clinic.

Key Requirements:

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • A working knowledge of computer systems and sound key board skills.
  • Customer service skills with the willingness to help people.
  • Sound communication skills with the ability to listen.
  • The ability to effectively engage and sensitively communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability and those with diverse characteristics and life experiences.
  • An understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • A willingness to learn and complete a Cert III in Business and other training as required.
  • The ability to accept direction and work productively in a team environment.
  • A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or the ability to quickly acquire.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certs or the willingness to obtain.
  • A current driver licence (L. P or Open)
  • Documentary evidence to verify either vaccination against or are not susceptible to any of the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases: Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (chickenpox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).
