The Kingaroy based Traineeship will be full-time for 12 months commencing Monday 1st February, 2027 and will include the completion of a Cert III in Animal Care Services.

The Duties:

Reporting to the Coordinator Regulatory Services, the Trainee will perform a diverse range of duties which will include:

  • Gain on-the-job by assisting with day-to-day activities in the care of animals within the Council’s South Burnett Animal Management Centre.
  • Undertake all training requirements and complete a Cert III in Animal Care Services.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Maintain a record of training achieved.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy workplace.
  • Complete other reasonable activities and directions as needed.

The Requirements:

  • A commitment to learn new skills and complete formal qualifications in Animal Care Services.
  • Sound comprehension and numeracy skills.
  • The ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision as required.
  • Sound communication skills.
  • Proven team player qualities.
  • Minimum successful completion of year 10.
  • A minimum current “C” class driver licence.
  • A commitment to safety in the workplace.

The recruitment process for this Traineeship will include:
