About CRAICCHS:
Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is a Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation.
CRAICCHS objective is to provide access to holistic and client-centred quality primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the South Burnett regions.
Key Duties:
Reporting directly to the Executive Manager Primary Health, the duties will be diverse, and although not limited to, will include:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily duties and operations of the health clinics, medical administration and transport teams.
- Ensure clinic operations and activities are effectively planned, delivered, monitored and reviewed with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Ensure the completion of all compliance activities to maintain accreditations and professional standards.
- Provide leadership and assist with recruitment, induction, training and performance management for clinic staff.
- Oversee client transportation to ensure clients are transported to and from clinic appointments safely and effectively.
- Manage, schedule and coordinate Allied Health services at all clinics
- Coordinate and monitor all Medicare and Best Practice administration functions.
- Ensure all relevant registers and reporting are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, community organisations and other CRAICCHS staff.
- Represent CRAICCHS at meetings, conferences and seminars as required.
- Ensure data, reporting and compliance obligations to relevant funding bodies are met.
- Develop a strong team and workplace culture that is committed to CRAICCHS strategy, mission, vision and values as outlined by the Board.
- Undertake other duties as required, that are within the scope of your skills, competence and training.
Key Requirements:
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- A minimum of Cert IV in the Primary Health Care sector or related fields and/or related extensive experience.
- Strong leadership, people management, planning, organisational and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of comprehensive primary health care principles including social determinants and their application within a regional Aboriginal community setting.
- A passion, advocacy for and understanding of health issues relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients including Closing the Gap priorities.
- A commitment to culturally safe engagement and practice with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, their families and the community.
- A working knowledge of the Medicare, Quality Management and Continuous Quality Improvement systems within a health care setting.
- Proven problem solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven networking and industry relationship building skills within the community and with related Government and non-Government organisations.
- Proven communication skills to effectively engage sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, those with disability and diverse characteristics and life experiences.
- Competent computer skills for the use of business technology, internet, MS Office, medical software (Best Practice), electronic client records, information management systems and quality management systems.
- The willingness to learn and complete ongoing professional development and training.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or the ability to quickly acquire.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certs or the willingness to obtain.
- Current driver licence.
- Documentary evidence to verify either vaccination against or are not susceptible to any of the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases: Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (chickenpox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).
Although nit essential requirements, preference will be shown to applicants also able to demonstrate any of the following:
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications in community services, health, social science, project management or other relevant areas.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Sound knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations in the South Burnett region.
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural competency training.
